Spidex Vital: Your Vital partner in spider mite control

Even more impact on spider mite control!

It all started with Spidex (Phytoseiulus persimilis) at Koppert more than 50 years ago. From day one this predatory mite formed the foundation of our spider mite control. Over time it grew to be one of the most important products for our growers. As the result of many years of research and fine-tuning, Spidex is now delivered in a new formulation; with a greater impact on spider mite control: Spidex Vital

Born to fight

Spidex Vital predatory mites are born to fight your spider mites. It gives you the best control over hotspots; building populations through faster growth, with increased egg laying capacity and proof of predation. Once the predatory mite has consumed several spider mites, the colour will gradually change to the characteristic red-orange colour.

Improved hotspot control

Our improved formulation makes sure our predatory mites have an energetic start and are better capable of travelling the given distance. In a bottle of Spidex Vital a more diverse population composition is present, so when applied in hotspots the adults are followed up by the growing nymphs and also Spidex eggs that are present will hatch amidst the appropriate food source. These factors combined give an increased hotspot control in your crop.

Improved egg laying capacity

As Spidex Vital has continuous access to nutrition during logistics, the females of Spidex Vital already have enough energy to develop their eggs. As a result they immediately can start laying eggs after release and don’t needs to get energy from spider mite from the field to develop the eggs. This will increase the population in your crop.

Proof of predation

The Phytoseiulus persimilis turns red after eating their prey. Once the predatory mite has consumed several spider mites, the color will gradually change to the characteristic red-orange color. This takes 1-2 days. After introduction of “white” Spidex Vital it therefore is a clear proof of predation when red Spidex Vital is observed.
